Sinnott continues podium form at Prodrift Punchestown

Posted on Wednesday 2nd Jun 2010

Team Hankook driver Alan Sinnott’s 3rd place finish at the recent Prodrift Series Round 2 topped off another successful event for Hankook Tyres at Punchestown, Co.Kildare. Although the Carlow driver narrowly missed out on a place in the event Final, Sinnott defeated 2008 Prodrift Champion James Deane in the consolation battle to secure third position overall.
This consecutive podium finish for Sinnott means that the Hankook driver now lies in 3rd position in the overall championship standings as the series heads for a spectacular event at Dublins City West on June 26th & 27th.

Team Hankooks Alan Lenihan also qualified for the main event in Punchestown and was eliminated at the Top 8 round of battles.  Encountering some minor tuning issues leading into the event, Lenihan was unable to unleash the full potential of his new Couture De Auto engine but was satisfied that the car was working well enough to compete.

The layout of the Punchestown circuit proved testing for all teams and drivers however using a mixture of Hankook Ventus K110 & Hankook Ventus RS2 tyres, the Hankook team enjoyed excellent grip and control over the challenging surface.

Following the event, Hankook Tyres Mangaing Director Niall Murray  was extremely satisfied with the result. “The Punchestown layout is always a big challenge for the team. During the course of the 2 days we worked hard to ensure that our drivers had the best possible grip and control and I think that Alan Sinnotts performance is evidence of that team work.  Consecutive podium finishes in the opening events is a fantastic achievement and we will be working hard at City West to continue this excellent run of success”.

From Punchestown, the Prodrift Ireland Series now moves to a brand new venue at the City West Hotel complex in Dublin for a double header event on June 26th & 27th. Featuring a large grid containing both national and international teams, Rounds 3 & 4 of the 2010 Prodrift Series will have a major influence on the ultimate destination of the 2010 championship trophy.  Team Hankook will once again be well represented at the event ensuring that both drivers have the best possible platform to continue this run of success.
