Sinnott makes podium on Hankook Drift Team debut.

Posted on Monday 19th Apr 2010

Team Hankook driver Alan Sinnott, yesterday claimed third place at the 2010 Prodrift Ireland Series Round 1, Fermoy, Co.Cork. Making his competitive debut for the Hankook Team, Sinnott was narrowly denied a place in the Round 1 Final following defeat to Nigel Colfer. However, the Carlow driver confirmed the last of the trophy positions by winning a hard fought battle for third place against Shane O’Sullivan.

Running on Hankook Ventus RS2 tyres, Alan Sinnott performed excellently throughout both Saturday & Sunday comeptition. His powerful Toyota Corolla AE86, displaying new Hankook Livery, consistently delivered excellent passes of the course leaving plumes of tyre smoke in his wake.

Commenting after the event Sinnott said “I’m happy with the car now, it is working well for me. I had some tough battles today but the Hankook RS2’s were brilliant”.

Sinnott’s Hankook team mate, Alan Lenihan, was defeated in the Top8 elimination round but seemed satisfied with the overall outcome of the day. Following his exit Lenihan said “It was no secret that our objective this weekend was to run-in the new engine and come away with Championship points, which we did. For Punchestown we can really push now that we are confident in the new engine setup”.

Both Hankook drivers were supported by official Hankook crew in the Prodrift paddock. Also present at the event, Niall Murray, Hankook Ireland Managing Director said “We are really happy with the outcome of todays competition. The Hankook Ventus RS2 performed brilliantly under testing conditions and overall the event was a strong start to our 2010 drifting campaign”.

From Fermoy the Hankook Drift Team travel to Punchestown, Co.Kildare on May 29th & 30th for the second round of the 2010 Prodrift Ireland Series.  You can keep up to date with all Hankook Drift News by visiting www.hankook.ie or www.prodriftseries.com.

Excellent piece of driving, an up-and-coming talent. Don’t let Gormley The Evil see the smoke, for God’s sake!
